My Story

One thing happened that started me on this path of creating memory crafts.

Then a second thing happened that solidified that journey and took it to another level.

The first thing that happened is that I saw an ad on social media from the daughter of a man who had passed, she was asking if anyone could make a memory bear for her from her father’s favorite shirt. I reached out to her to let her know that I would love to help her honor her dad with this gift which she planned to give to her young son who missed him terribly.

We met and worked out the details and a week later she and her son came to pick up the new bear. We cried together, knowing this bear would be in the world serving as a memory and a comfort. That very first bear, who sported a personalized bushy white mustache, was named PopPop by the young boy who held him close and reportedly took him everywhere… even to school!

Word spread in my community and I had the opportunity to help many more families. Through the years I have collaborated and personalized the creation of bears, bags, military tributes, table runners, quilts, and so many other stuffed animals like giraffes, koala bears, and bunnies all made with favorite clothing or other favorite materials.

Learning the names of the loved ones, having been shown pictures of those passed on and hearing the stories of loss filled me with gratitude and purpose.

The second thing that happened solidified my path -- I lost my own daughter and memory crafts became a deeply meaningful calling and life purpose.

It is truly an honor and privilege to be a part of your journey.
